foxgloves on cliff Foxgloves, cliff path near Ilfracombe,
oil, 20 x 16 ins,
private collection

This painting is a memory of a walk I took with my friend Clare, and her dog Poppy, one beautiful June day, along the coastal path from Ilfracombe towards Lee Bay. We sat on this cliff for a  picnic, and afterwards  I sketched the view.

This is a little portrait that I did of Poppy, who sadly died in 2009, aged 13.
She was quite an art critic and used to bark at any animal paintings that I did.
